As we approach the holiday season, we want to address recent reports about Canine Infectious Respiratory Disease Complex (CIRDC) and share important precautions to ensure the well-being of your beloved pets.
CIRDC has been periodically reported by veterinarians since December 2022. This respiratory syndrome poses challenges in diagnosis and treatment as it is not linked to a specific virus or bacteria. The holiday season may witness an uptick in cases, possibly due to boarding facilities reaching capacity and increased pet travel.
Please be assured that we are closely monitoring the situation and have implemented necessary precautions within our clinic. To prioritize the health of all pets in our care, we kindly request that dogs exhibiting symptoms such as cough or nasal discharge, or those exposed to such symptoms, remain in your vehicle upon arrival. Contact our office at 772-631-3119, and our staff will provide guidance on your appointment.
Our clinic has established protocols for isolation, personal protective equipment (PPE), and thorough cleaning should a dog with CIRDC signs interact with our staff or be present in the hospital.
